Love is Kindness

Hello, crafty friends.  Today I am sharing a card  I made using the "Love is Kindness" single stamp from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  I was trying to make a clean and simple card with a lot of white space.  Here's what I came up with:

Stampin' UP! ink colors are: Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry, Gumball Green (retired) and Tempting Turquoise.
Here's how I created it:  I sponged the colors onto a piece of white cardstock. I then spritzed it with a water bottle and dried it with my heat tool.  When it was completely dry, I stamped the image and added some "spots" from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  The paper was kinda curled from the water and subsequent drying, so I layered another piece of paper behind it to help it lay flat. :)

I added a little piece of "mock stitching" from a retired embossing folder and a Scalloped Edge Border in Tempting Turquoise. Will that punch ever get old? :)

The main panel is stamped using the Dictionary background stamp with Smoky Slate ink. I then used the Dots and Stripes Mask  to sponge in the circles.   I am submitting this card into the AAA cards #35 Bare Naked CAS.  Here is their challenge:

The challenge is to "go very white, with a layer or two....and clean and simple".

Here's the products I used:

Impressions a Bloom for Sunday Stamps!

Happy Sunday!  Right now I am knee deep in making decorations for my daughter's upcoming baby shower next weekend and the theme is Winnie the Pooh! lol :)  I am going to be a grandma for the first time and all I can say is that I am really is exciting! I forced myself to clear off my stamping table (well actually just push stuff away) and created a floral card for this weeks new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  The Impressions  a Bloom Bundle is one of my newest favorite sets and I really have not had time to create with all of the very many different ways you can with this set.  Here's my 2nd go. Soft pastel colors? Count me in!  And these petals exemplify the softness you can achieve with the Impressions a Bloom .  For these flowers, I stamped 2 in Peach Pie ink followed by Timid Tiger ink. The 3rd flower was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. I first stamped off onto scratch paper and then used full strength for the detailed/outline stamp. Next, I d...

Perfectly Pears for Sunday Stamps!

It's Sunday and today starts another new challenge at Sunday Stamps! Yahoo!  I love card challenges because it makes you think outside the box and at the same time gives you something to create with whether it be a color challenge or a sketch challenge.   For this weeks creation, I focused on the new Online Exclusive Bundle called Perfectly Pears .  This bundle is part of a suite and the products in the suite are gorgeous.  For this particular creation, I focused on the adorable set of pears and a few of the coordinating dies. I stamped the outline set of pears image using Pecan Pie ink and then stamped the solid part of the pear image using Darling Duckling ink which also had some Timid Tiger ink sponged onto it as well. I then took my Darling Duckling and my Timid Tiger Stampin' Blends and outlined some of the edges of the pears to add more depth to each Pear. Next, I colored the leaves and stem using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends...
