Trimming the Tree

Hello, to my crafty friends. Today, I have a fun creation to share with you using the Trimming the Tree stamp set with the coordinating Tree Trimmings Dies which is part of the Perfect Partners Promotion ending Friday, September 30th.

I paired my trio of trees with the Splendid Day 12" x 12" Specialty Paper to add some festive shine and to show you how versatile the Splendid Day 12" x 12" DSP really is.

My focal tree is stamped using Soft Sea Foam and Pear Pizzazz ink, and then I reversed the order of stamped colors for the remaining two trees.
To make my card look like the trees where in a forest, I added a row of hand cut snowdrifts under my trees and a few rows of garland to my focal tree using Basic White cardstock.  I could have added more bling to my trees, but I really liked the green and white as my focal colors.

Next, I added a White Glimmer Paper die cut star to the top of my tree and a copper embossed sentiment to match the Splendid Day 12" x 12" Specialty DSP.
You can see how shiny and sparkly my card is with the copper embossing with the copper piece of DSP much better in the photo above.

The other item I used on my card that is absolutely a must have is the Split Card Textures Dies.  What a fun new set of dies.  If you don't have these yet, I would be asking Santa to get them for you this year. lol

Impressions a Bloom for Sunday Stamps!

Happy Sunday!  Right now I am knee deep in making decorations for my daughter's upcoming baby shower next weekend and the theme is Winnie the Pooh! lol :)  I am going to be a grandma for the first time and all I can say is that I am really is exciting! I forced myself to clear off my stamping table (well actually just push stuff away) and created a floral card for this weeks new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  The Impressions  a Bloom Bundle is one of my newest favorite sets and I really have not had time to create with all of the very many different ways you can with this set.  Here's my 2nd go. Soft pastel colors? Count me in!  And these petals exemplify the softness you can achieve with the Impressions a Bloom .  For these flowers, I stamped 2 in Peach Pie ink followed by Timid Tiger ink. The 3rd flower was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. I first stamped off onto scratch paper and then used full strength for the detailed/outline stamp. Next, I d...

      Perfectly Pears for Sunday Stamps!

It's Sunday and today starts another new challenge at Sunday Stamps! Yahoo!  I love card challenges because it makes you think outside the box and at the same time gives you something to create with whether it be a color challenge or a sketch challenge.   For this weeks creation, I focused on the new Online Exclusive Bundle called Perfectly Pears .  This bundle is part of a suite and the products in the suite are gorgeous.  For this particular creation, I focused on the adorable set of pears and a few of the coordinating dies. I stamped the outline set of pears image using Pecan Pie ink and then stamped the solid part of the pear image using Darling Duckling ink which also had some Timid Tiger ink sponged onto it as well. I then took my Darling Duckling and my Timid Tiger Stampin' Blends and outlined some of the edges of the pears to add more depth to each Pear. Next, I colored the leaves and stem using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends...
