Sweet Soiree Suite for SSC176

Hello, crafty friends. Today, I am sharing a birthday card I made using the Sweet Soiree Suite for the new challenge at Sunday Stamps!.  Say that 3 times! :)

What's in the Sweet Soiree Suite, you say?  Well I used three of the main items in the suite: the Cake Soiree Bundle, the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit and the Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP.  Isn't that sweet?

I will have to admit that this weeks challenge was a little bit of a challenge for me.  I don't think I have ever made a card with this kind of layout.  Thanks for the challenge, Heather!  Now that it's finished, it's definitely growing on me.  I may have to try this layout for another card creation.

Here's what's cookin' at Sunday Stamps! this week.

My mother-in-law will turn 92 in three short months.  I love that I could make her card extra special with the die cut numbers ready to go from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit . Yippee, I have another card done BEFORE the birthday celebration!

The Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit was one of the first items on my must have list after seeing it in person at Onstage last Fall..  There are so many beautiful pieces in it, and they match everything in the Sweet Soiree Suite perfectly.  I have to admit that I was hoarding the kit.  It's easy to do when the pieces are so pretty.  You just want to look at them and dream about what you can do with them. Do you know what I mean?

I used the following pieces from the kit: the die cut/colored flower arrangement, the Marina Mist scalloped velvet ribbon, the silver and white foil washi tape and the die cut numbers.

To make all the silver accents in the card really pop, I added 3 silver foil die cut leaves from the Sweet Cake Framelits Dies and  2 Silver Metallic Enamel Shapes by the "92".

Now, if I really get my act together, I can make her a matching treat bag so that I can use one of those cute tassels too! ;)

Impressions a Bloom for Sunday Stamps!

Happy Sunday!  Right now I am knee deep in making decorations for my daughter's upcoming baby shower next weekend and the theme is Winnie the Pooh! lol :)  I am going to be a grandma for the first time and all I can say is that I am really is exciting! I forced myself to clear off my stamping table (well actually just push stuff away) and created a floral card for this weeks new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  The Impressions  a Bloom Bundle is one of my newest favorite sets and I really have not had time to create with all of the very many different ways you can with this set.  Here's my 2nd go. Soft pastel colors? Count me in!  And these petals exemplify the softness you can achieve with the Impressions a Bloom .  For these flowers, I stamped 2 in Peach Pie ink followed by Timid Tiger ink. The 3rd flower was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. I first stamped off onto scratch paper and then used full strength for the detailed/outline stamp. Next, I d...

Perfectly Pears for Sunday Stamps!

It's Sunday and today starts another new challenge at Sunday Stamps! Yahoo!  I love card challenges because it makes you think outside the box and at the same time gives you something to create with whether it be a color challenge or a sketch challenge.   For this weeks creation, I focused on the new Online Exclusive Bundle called Perfectly Pears .  This bundle is part of a suite and the products in the suite are gorgeous.  For this particular creation, I focused on the adorable set of pears and a few of the coordinating dies. I stamped the outline set of pears image using Pecan Pie ink and then stamped the solid part of the pear image using Darling Duckling ink which also had some Timid Tiger ink sponged onto it as well. I then took my Darling Duckling and my Timid Tiger Stampin' Blends and outlined some of the edges of the pears to add more depth to each Pear. Next, I colored the leaves and stem using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends...
