Sneak Peek: Painted Glass for SSC177

Hello, crafty friends.  Today's project is a sneak peek of another  new bundle from the upcoming catalog called Painted Glass.  This bundle is very unique in that the images in both the stamp set and framelits look like stained glass.  This set will be perfect for coloring with the Stampin' Blend markers. :0

My card was created using the new color challenge at Sunday Stamps! I used Very Vanilla, Night of Navy, Tranquil Tide and Crumb Cake.

Here's a closeup of the Basic Black die cut stained glass window using the Stained Glass Thinlits Dies.  I added a piece of vellum to the backside of the die cut circle and then colored the flower image using Night of Navy and Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends.  Without having a Tranquil Tide Stampin' Blend marker, I simply used my Tranquil Tide ink refill with my Blender pen.

Adding the vellum behind the thinlit really makes it look like a stained glass image!  The sentiment and butterflies were embossed with black embossing powder.  I think the font in this set is perfect for the stained glass theme. :)

To play along with this weeks challenge at Sunday Stamps!, pick a minimum of 3 colors from the challenge and submit your creation by Friday, May 4, 2018.  And don't forget to check out the other design team members creations.

  1. This is a beautiful card! I was wondering how you made the base of the card. Did you use circle dies to make a circle frame of black Cardstock? Did you cut a circle out of the Very Vanilla or just lay the vellum on top? Hard to see in the photo. Thank you.

    1. Hello, Pat! Yes, I made a circle frame with the layering circle and stitched shapes circle framelits. I also added a Vellum circle and then a Very Vanilla circle behind the framelit (after I colored it). But most importantly- I cut a circle on the Very Vanilla front layer for all these layers to go into so that it looks like a window. Hope that helps. email me if you have additional questions. :)
