Ink Color Revision at Stampin' UP!

Hello, crafty friends! I had so much fun at Onstage in Milwaukee, Wisconsin this past weekend, and today I wanted to share a few important details regarding the ink color revisions you will find in the new 2018-2019 annual catalog.

Stampin' UP! had to make the decision to keep the existing design of the ink pads or revamp them due to the mold needing to be retired.  As a result, Stampin' UP! chose to redesign their ink pads.

The new ink pads will now be:
1) stackable;
2) flip open without first unlatching the top;
3) contain additional stickers so that you can see what color it is when the ink is opened; and
4) the ink formula was changed by adding a defoaming agent to increase the stamping performance of the ink.

With this revision, they decided to also revise the ink colors - to keep them on trend with current color demands/use.
As a result, the following 13 ink colors are retiring:
Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise, Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Rose Red, Always Artichoke, Island Indigo, Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant.

There will also be 6 In Colors returning and becoming a part of the main color collection:
Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana, Blackberry Bliss, Mint Macaron, and Mossy Meadow.

And lastly, there will be 10 completely new colors added:
Merry Merlot, Gray Granite, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape, Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam, Balmy Blue, Highland Heather and Shaded Spruce.

So if you see the ink pads retiring on the retirement list, you now know why. It's time to stock up on cardstock and embellishments of your favorite colors before they're gone!

Impressions a Bloom for Sunday Stamps!

 Happy Sunday!  Right now I am knee deep in making decorations for my daughter's upcoming baby shower next weekend and the theme is Winnie the Pooh! lol :)  I am going to be a grandma for the first time and all I can say is that I am really is exciting! I forced myself to clear off my stamping table (well actually just push stuff away) and created a floral card for this weeks new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  The Impressions  a Bloom Bundle is one of my newest favorite sets and I really have not had time to create with all of the very many different ways you can with this set.  Here's my 2nd go. Soft pastel colors? Count me in!  And these petals exemplify the softness you can achieve with the Impressions a Bloom .  For these flowers, I stamped 2 in Peach Pie ink followed by Timid Tiger ink. The 3rd flower was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. I first stamped off onto scratch paper and then used full strength for the detailed/outline stamp. Next, I d...

Perfectly Pears for Sunday Stamps!

 It's Sunday and today starts another new challenge at Sunday Stamps! Yahoo!  I love card challenges because it makes you think outside the box and at the same time gives you something to create with whether it be a color challenge or a sketch challenge.   For this weeks creation, I focused on the new Online Exclusive Bundle called Perfectly Pears .  This bundle is part of a suite and the products in the suite are gorgeous.  For this particular creation, I focused on the adorable set of pears and a few of the coordinating dies. I stamped the outline set of pears image using Pecan Pie ink and then stamped the solid part of the pear image using Darling Duckling ink which also had some Timid Tiger ink sponged onto it as well. I then took my Darling Duckling and my Timid Tiger Stampin' Blends and outlined some of the edges of the pears to add more depth to each Pear. Next, I colored the leaves and stem using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends...
