A Cozy Cottage for You

Hello, crafty friends.  I am getting ready to travel to Wisconsin for Stampin' UP!'s Onstage.  It will be a whirl wind of stampers, crafting, and seeing new products from the upcoming annual catalog.  Sadly, Mother Nature is planning to stress me out with another winter storm on my drive back. :(

I'm popping in to show you a card I made using the Cozy Cottage Hostess stamp set from the Occasions catalog.  I recently was talking to a customer and she said she wasn't sure if she would like this set as it would involve a lot of coloring.
My card has some coloring but with all the detail in the image, embossing it and then choosing to highlight certain areas made this card quick and easy to do.  So here's my card for you, Linda. :)

The cottage image was stamped with Veramark and then embossed with gold embossing powder on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  Believe it or not, leaving it just embossed was beautiful and I almost left it as is.  But as my customers know, I have to add something!  So I chose my ribbon and then I colored the trees, bushes and select clumps of grass with a light watercolor wash using my Aqua Painter.  Next, I added Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede to the cottage and rocks. Again, I kept the coloring very light to give it a soft feel.  The embossed images made it super easy to keep inside the lines.

I needed a thinking of you/get well card for a special person who is battling some major health issues so I decided this cozy cottage would be perfect to send to her.

Lemon Lime Twist 3/8" Mini Striped Ribbon would be a great addition to add to your stash if you have the ink pad and cardstock.  I'm just say'in.

Receive a pack of 2017-2019 In Color Cardstock for an order of  at least $45 (before shipping and tax) using my April Host Code: BEUWTTY7.  Complete details are HERE.

Happy Stamping!

Impressions a Bloom for Sunday Stamps!

Happy Sunday!  Right now I am knee deep in making decorations for my daughter's upcoming baby shower next weekend and the theme is Winnie the Pooh! lol :)  I am going to be a grandma for the first time and all I can say is that I am really is exciting! I forced myself to clear off my stamping table (well actually just push stuff away) and created a floral card for this weeks new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  The Impressions  a Bloom Bundle is one of my newest favorite sets and I really have not had time to create with all of the very many different ways you can with this set.  Here's my 2nd go. Soft pastel colors? Count me in!  And these petals exemplify the softness you can achieve with the Impressions a Bloom .  For these flowers, I stamped 2 in Peach Pie ink followed by Timid Tiger ink. The 3rd flower was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. I first stamped off onto scratch paper and then used full strength for the detailed/outline stamp. Next, I d...

Perfectly Pears for Sunday Stamps!

It's Sunday and today starts another new challenge at Sunday Stamps! Yahoo!  I love card challenges because it makes you think outside the box and at the same time gives you something to create with whether it be a color challenge or a sketch challenge.   For this weeks creation, I focused on the new Online Exclusive Bundle called Perfectly Pears .  This bundle is part of a suite and the products in the suite are gorgeous.  For this particular creation, I focused on the adorable set of pears and a few of the coordinating dies. I stamped the outline set of pears image using Pecan Pie ink and then stamped the solid part of the pear image using Darling Duckling ink which also had some Timid Tiger ink sponged onto it as well. I then took my Darling Duckling and my Timid Tiger Stampin' Blends and outlined some of the edges of the pears to add more depth to each Pear. Next, I colored the leaves and stem using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends...
