Oh So Succulent

Hello, crafty friends. I have another fun card to share with you today using the Oh So Succulent Bundle- again! This time I made a  4 1/4" by 4 1/4" square card.

Oh So Succulent Card Supplies:

  • stamps: Oh So Succulent Bundle (retiring)
  • card stock: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, and Soft Suede
  • ink: Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry, Sweet Sugarplum, and Old Olive
  • accessories: Succulent Framelits (retiring), Irresistibly Floral DSP, Sponge Brayer, Linen Thread, and Halloween Enamel Dots (now in the Clearance store!)

So are you wondering how I made the background paper?
First, I cut 3 pieces of the Irresistibly Floral Specialty DSP at 1 1/8" by 3 1/2" strips and randomly brayered Soft Suede ink onto 2 of the pieces while brayering Rich Razzleberry ink on the 3rd piece.  I used the awesome Sponge Brayers.  I love these little brayers. They are so easy to use.

Next, I took a paper towel and wiped the DSP off to remove the ink from the embossed areas- in this case the circles.  Lastly, I stamped a flower image from the Oh So Succulent stamp set randomly onto the DSP pieces using Soft Suede and Rich Razzleberry ink. Again, I wiped the card stock off to show the pre-embossed areas.  Super easy and gives you a cool effect!  I love the Irresistibly Floral Specialty DSP!

Impressions a Bloom for Sunday Stamps!

Happy Sunday!  Right now I am knee deep in making decorations for my daughter's upcoming baby shower next weekend and the theme is Winnie the Pooh! lol :)  I am going to be a grandma for the first time and all I can say is that I am really is exciting! I forced myself to clear off my stamping table (well actually just push stuff away) and created a floral card for this weeks new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  The Impressions  a Bloom Bundle is one of my newest favorite sets and I really have not had time to create with all of the very many different ways you can with this set.  Here's my 2nd go. Soft pastel colors? Count me in!  And these petals exemplify the softness you can achieve with the Impressions a Bloom .  For these flowers, I stamped 2 in Peach Pie ink followed by Timid Tiger ink. The 3rd flower was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. I first stamped off onto scratch paper and then used full strength for the detailed/outline stamp. Next, I d...

Perfectly Pears for Sunday Stamps!

It's Sunday and today starts another new challenge at Sunday Stamps! Yahoo!  I love card challenges because it makes you think outside the box and at the same time gives you something to create with whether it be a color challenge or a sketch challenge.   For this weeks creation, I focused on the new Online Exclusive Bundle called Perfectly Pears .  This bundle is part of a suite and the products in the suite are gorgeous.  For this particular creation, I focused on the adorable set of pears and a few of the coordinating dies. I stamped the outline set of pears image using Pecan Pie ink and then stamped the solid part of the pear image using Darling Duckling ink which also had some Timid Tiger ink sponged onto it as well. I then took my Darling Duckling and my Timid Tiger Stampin' Blends and outlined some of the edges of the pears to add more depth to each Pear. Next, I colored the leaves and stem using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends...
