Sending Love & Hugs

Happy Friday!  Today, I am sharing a birthday card I made for my cousin.  We grew up together (she is the oldest sibling in her family as I am in mine) but unfortunately we no longer live near each other (insert sad face).
I found a neglected stamp set from the annual catalog to create my special card for her called Sunshine Sayings.

It is difficult to see, but I also used the Delicate Details from the Sale-a-bration catalog around the edges of the Early Espresso cardstock.   This is a fabulous set because it contains a lot of great words.
Sunshine Sayings Clear-Mount Stamp Set
Here's a larger photo showing the Delicate Details border (click on picture too). Colors are: Peekaboo Peach and Early Espresso.
To create a softer background, I first stamped Peekaboo Peach onto a piece of scratch paper before stamping onto the Very Vanilla piece.

I used a piece of DSP from the Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack for the flowers and a small piece at the bottom of the card.  Brown and orange are great together.

SUPPPLIES:

STAMPS: Sunshine Says, Delicate Details;
INK: Early Espresso, Peekaboo Peach
PAPER: Early  Espresso, Peekaboo Peach and Very Vanilla
ACCESSORIES: Cupcake & Carousels DSP, Early Espresso Bakers Twine, Clear Ink of Stella, Brights Sequins.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

  1. Annette, these are two colours I'd not thought to put together, but they look beautiful. This is a lovely card for your cousin.

Impressions a Bloom for Sunday Stamps!

 Happy Sunday!  Right now I am knee deep in making decorations for my daughter's upcoming baby shower next weekend and the theme is Winnie the Pooh! lol :)  I am going to be a grandma for the first time and all I can say is that I am really is exciting! I forced myself to clear off my stamping table (well actually just push stuff away) and created a floral card for this weeks new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  The Impressions  a Bloom Bundle is one of my newest favorite sets and I really have not had time to create with all of the very many different ways you can with this set.  Here's my 2nd go. Soft pastel colors? Count me in!  And these petals exemplify the softness you can achieve with the Impressions a Bloom .  For these flowers, I stamped 2 in Peach Pie ink followed by Timid Tiger ink. The 3rd flower was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. I first stamped off onto scratch paper and then used full strength for the detailed/outline stamp. Next, I d...

Perfectly Pears for Sunday Stamps!

 It's Sunday and today starts another new challenge at Sunday Stamps! Yahoo!  I love card challenges because it makes you think outside the box and at the same time gives you something to create with whether it be a color challenge or a sketch challenge.   For this weeks creation, I focused on the new Online Exclusive Bundle called Perfectly Pears .  This bundle is part of a suite and the products in the suite are gorgeous.  For this particular creation, I focused on the adorable set of pears and a few of the coordinating dies. I stamped the outline set of pears image using Pecan Pie ink and then stamped the solid part of the pear image using Darling Duckling ink which also had some Timid Tiger ink sponged onto it as well. I then took my Darling Duckling and my Timid Tiger Stampin' Blends and outlined some of the edges of the pears to add more depth to each Pear. Next, I colored the leaves and stem using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends...
