Thankful for Sunday Stamps! #145

Welcome back to another challenge at Sunday Stamps!  This week we are working with a color challenge.  I decided to ink up my new Hostess stamp set called Thankful Life from the Occasions catalog.
I found that you should stamp the flower images first and then add the vase last.  I also found that it was the easiest to stamp the flowers in this order: 1) stamp the flower image (as shown above) in Early  Espresso; 2) stamp the flower image in Calypso Coral, and 3) stamp the cute little flowers as shown in Peekaboo Peach ink.  Since this is a photopolymer stamp set, it was very easy to line them up.  The results? A beautiful vase of flowers! :)

The colors in this weeks challenge made me think of field flowers.  Therefore, I thought the Hardwood background stamp set would be a great addition.  Here's this weeks challenge at Sunday Stamps!

The colors I chose to work with this weeks challenge are: Early Espresso, Smoky Slate, Peekaboo Peach and Calypso Coral.
I added some depth by stamping some of the flowers in Calypso Coral and punched them out with a 3/8" circle punch.  I used my Aqua Painter to add a shadow under the vase using Smoky Slate ink.

Thankful Card Supplies:

  • Stamps: Thankful Life (Hostess set), Hardwood
  • Ink: Early Espresso, Smoky Slate, Calypso Coral, Peekaboo Peach
  • Paper:  Thick Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Early Espresso
  • Accessories: Aqua Painter, Peekaboo Peach 3/8" Ruched Ribbon,  Peekaboo Peach Enamel Shapes, Early Espresso Marker.

Impressions a Bloom for Sunday Stamps!

Happy Sunday!  Right now I am knee deep in making decorations for my daughter's upcoming baby shower next weekend and the theme is Winnie the Pooh! lol :)  I am going to be a grandma for the first time and all I can say is that I am really is exciting! I forced myself to clear off my stamping table (well actually just push stuff away) and created a floral card for this weeks new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  The Impressions  a Bloom Bundle is one of my newest favorite sets and I really have not had time to create with all of the very many different ways you can with this set.  Here's my 2nd go. Soft pastel colors? Count me in!  And these petals exemplify the softness you can achieve with the Impressions a Bloom .  For these flowers, I stamped 2 in Peach Pie ink followed by Timid Tiger ink. The 3rd flower was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. I first stamped off onto scratch paper and then used full strength for the detailed/outline stamp. Next, I d...

Perfectly Pears for Sunday Stamps!

It's Sunday and today starts another new challenge at Sunday Stamps! Yahoo!  I love card challenges because it makes you think outside the box and at the same time gives you something to create with whether it be a color challenge or a sketch challenge.   For this weeks creation, I focused on the new Online Exclusive Bundle called Perfectly Pears .  This bundle is part of a suite and the products in the suite are gorgeous.  For this particular creation, I focused on the adorable set of pears and a few of the coordinating dies. I stamped the outline set of pears image using Pecan Pie ink and then stamped the solid part of the pear image using Darling Duckling ink which also had some Timid Tiger ink sponged onto it as well. I then took my Darling Duckling and my Timid Tiger Stampin' Blends and outlined some of the edges of the pears to add more depth to each Pear. Next, I colored the leaves and stem using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends...
