Northern Lights for Sunday Stamps!

Hello, crafty friends!  We have a festive color challenge for you to play along with at Sunday Stamps! this week.
Such a fun picture! I love those little reindeer and of course that gingerbread man. So cute!  Use a minimum of 3 colors and a neutral of your choice to play along.  Here's what I made using Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz, Peekaboo Peach, Soft Suede and Real Red:

To create the background, I stamped the star images from the Star of Light stamp set randomly onto a 3 7/8" by 5 1/8" piece of Whisper White card stock using Versamark ink and then embossed it with white embossing powder.  To create the "northern lights" effect, I sponged in all the different ink colors randomly using sponge daubers.  When I was finished adding ink, I used a paper towel to wipe the excess ink off  the embossed stars.

Stamping Supplies:

  • Stamps: Santa's Sleigh Bundle (143499), Star of Light (142110)
  • Paper: Whisper White, Peekaboo Peach, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede and Real Red.
  • Ink: Versamark, Peekaboo Peach, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz, and Real Red.
  • Accessories: Santa's Sleigh Bundle (143499), White Embossing Powder, Sponge Daubers, Peekaboo Peach 3/8" Ruched Ribbon, Rhinestone.

Impressions a Bloom for Sunday Stamps!

Happy Sunday!  Right now I am knee deep in making decorations for my daughter's upcoming baby shower next weekend and the theme is Winnie the Pooh! lol :)  I am going to be a grandma for the first time and all I can say is that I am really is exciting! I forced myself to clear off my stamping table (well actually just push stuff away) and created a floral card for this weeks new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  The Impressions  a Bloom Bundle is one of my newest favorite sets and I really have not had time to create with all of the very many different ways you can with this set.  Here's my 2nd go. Soft pastel colors? Count me in!  And these petals exemplify the softness you can achieve with the Impressions a Bloom .  For these flowers, I stamped 2 in Peach Pie ink followed by Timid Tiger ink. The 3rd flower was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. I first stamped off onto scratch paper and then used full strength for the detailed/outline stamp. Next, I d...

Perfectly Pears for Sunday Stamps!

It's Sunday and today starts another new challenge at Sunday Stamps! Yahoo!  I love card challenges because it makes you think outside the box and at the same time gives you something to create with whether it be a color challenge or a sketch challenge.   For this weeks creation, I focused on the new Online Exclusive Bundle called Perfectly Pears .  This bundle is part of a suite and the products in the suite are gorgeous.  For this particular creation, I focused on the adorable set of pears and a few of the coordinating dies. I stamped the outline set of pears image using Pecan Pie ink and then stamped the solid part of the pear image using Darling Duckling ink which also had some Timid Tiger ink sponged onto it as well. I then took my Darling Duckling and my Timid Tiger Stampin' Blends and outlined some of the edges of the pears to add more depth to each Pear. Next, I colored the leaves and stem using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends...
