Color Throwdown #398

Hello, crafty friends.  Today, I am sharing a fun card I made following the color challenge at Color Throwdown.  Here's the challenge:
Some super fun, and bright summer colors for this weeks challenge.  The colors are stated as: red raspberry, hot pink, lime green and bright yellow.

Here's what I came up with using: Raspberry Ripple, Melon Mambo, Cucumber Crush and Daffodil Delight Stampin' UP! ink colors.

I started out by white washing a piece of Thick Whisper White Cardstock with Cucumber Crush and Daffodil Delight ink refills.  I then heat set it, and flicked (like my professional word?) Raspberry Ripple droplets randomly onto it.  I, then heat set it again.  I was then ready to stamp my images using Basic Black ink.  This is the Falling Flowers stamp set., and the sentiment is from the Love & Affection stamp set.

I then cut three of the largest flowers from the May Flowers Framelits in Raspberry Ripple, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight cardstock and pieced them together.  Next, I added three leaves die cut in Cucumber Crush.  Sequins and Daffodil Delight Enamels finish it off.

The stamp set and framelits can be purchased as a bundle to save 10%!  See page 127 of the annual catalog for more information.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Happy Stamping!

  1. Love the big pieced flower! Putting all of those little pieces into the die cut must have been time-consuming, but it was definitely worth it. Thanks for joining us at The Color Throwdown!

Impressions a Bloom for Sunday Stamps!

Happy Sunday!  Right now I am knee deep in making decorations for my daughter's upcoming baby shower next weekend and the theme is Winnie the Pooh! lol :)  I am going to be a grandma for the first time and all I can say is that I am really is exciting! I forced myself to clear off my stamping table (well actually just push stuff away) and created a floral card for this weeks new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  The Impressions  a Bloom Bundle is one of my newest favorite sets and I really have not had time to create with all of the very many different ways you can with this set.  Here's my 2nd go. Soft pastel colors? Count me in!  And these petals exemplify the softness you can achieve with the Impressions a Bloom .  For these flowers, I stamped 2 in Peach Pie ink followed by Timid Tiger ink. The 3rd flower was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. I first stamped off onto scratch paper and then used full strength for the detailed/outline stamp. Next, I d...

Perfectly Pears for Sunday Stamps!

It's Sunday and today starts another new challenge at Sunday Stamps! Yahoo!  I love card challenges because it makes you think outside the box and at the same time gives you something to create with whether it be a color challenge or a sketch challenge.   For this weeks creation, I focused on the new Online Exclusive Bundle called Perfectly Pears .  This bundle is part of a suite and the products in the suite are gorgeous.  For this particular creation, I focused on the adorable set of pears and a few of the coordinating dies. I stamped the outline set of pears image using Pecan Pie ink and then stamped the solid part of the pear image using Darling Duckling ink which also had some Timid Tiger ink sponged onto it as well. I then took my Darling Duckling and my Timid Tiger Stampin' Blends and outlined some of the edges of the pears to add more depth to each Pear. Next, I colored the leaves and stem using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends...
