PP#199 and SC#491: Father's Day card

Hello! Long time no stamp!  My husband bought a new fishing boat and he was determined that I fish in it as soon as possible so that I could "see" how awesome it is in the hopes that I will start wanting to fish 24-7 as he likes to. Hmmm, not sure that will happen, but it was nice to get away. The Canadian weather was beautiful and I did catch quite a few fish!
Today, I was having withdrawals from stamping so I squeezed in a card late this afternoon and ended up taking a picture of it outside. I used Paper Players #199 color challenge along with Splitcoast Stampers sketch challenge #491 to create my Father's Day card I made for my dad.  Here are the challenges (note the picture for SC#491 was so tiny and I tried to enlarge it so thats why its blurry):

And here's my card:

Believe it or not, I have NOT placed my first order from the new 2014-2015 catalog! I usually try to hold off a little bit...because I usually want just about everything (no exception this year either)  and I need to really think about it.  It's actually therapeutic to me analyzing and reanalyzing what my order should be. I know strange.  But luckily, I still have my sneak peek goodies to get me through.  So I will survive...at least for a little while longer. : )

Here's the goodies I used to create my card:
Well, I hope my dad likes it!  Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

Impressions a Bloom for Sunday Stamps!

Happy Sunday!  Right now I am knee deep in making decorations for my daughter's upcoming baby shower next weekend and the theme is Winnie the Pooh! lol :)  I am going to be a grandma for the first time and all I can say is that I am really is exciting! I forced myself to clear off my stamping table (well actually just push stuff away) and created a floral card for this weeks new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  The Impressions  a Bloom Bundle is one of my newest favorite sets and I really have not had time to create with all of the very many different ways you can with this set.  Here's my 2nd go. Soft pastel colors? Count me in!  And these petals exemplify the softness you can achieve with the Impressions a Bloom .  For these flowers, I stamped 2 in Peach Pie ink followed by Timid Tiger ink. The 3rd flower was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. I first stamped off onto scratch paper and then used full strength for the detailed/outline stamp. Next, I d...

Perfectly Pears for Sunday Stamps!

It's Sunday and today starts another new challenge at Sunday Stamps! Yahoo!  I love card challenges because it makes you think outside the box and at the same time gives you something to create with whether it be a color challenge or a sketch challenge.   For this weeks creation, I focused on the new Online Exclusive Bundle called Perfectly Pears .  This bundle is part of a suite and the products in the suite are gorgeous.  For this particular creation, I focused on the adorable set of pears and a few of the coordinating dies. I stamped the outline set of pears image using Pecan Pie ink and then stamped the solid part of the pear image using Darling Duckling ink which also had some Timid Tiger ink sponged onto it as well. I then took my Darling Duckling and my Timid Tiger Stampin' Blends and outlined some of the edges of the pears to add more depth to each Pear. Next, I colored the leaves and stem using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends...
