Photopolymer Happy Birthday!

Hello, stampers. I received my Stampin' UP! order last night! Yippee! So, this morning while it rained, I played with some of my new goodies.  Four of them to be a matter of fact.  To get some inspirational help, I followed the color challenge Just Add Ink #219.   Here's the challenge:

And here's my card:
I used two new photopolymer stamp sets called: Age Awareness and Borderettes. These are the very first photopolymer stamps I have bought from SU. The other two new SU goodies I used are the Tiny Triangles embossing folder and Smokey Slate 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon. Photopolymer stamp sets are so cool because you do NOT have to use a stampa-ma-jig to line up images!
I added the row of triangles from the Borderettes stamp set above and below the "happy birthday" phrase without using my stampa-ma-jig.  How cool is that?   Colors are: Basic Black, Crushed Curry and Smokey  Slate.
I also colored around the "happy birthday" phrase using the lightest color of Blendabilities from the Daffodil Delight family.  And then to finish off my card and to give it some sparkle, I added some Dazzling Details.  Oh so much fun!

Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Stamping!

  1. Wow, what a lot of fun you've had with your new 'toys', Annette! I love the triangular elements, and the stars - and especially like the way you've added colour around the sentiment. Very cool birthday card! Thanks for playing along with us at Just Add Ink this week!

Great card - I am looking forward to trying out the photopolymer stamps too - and I love the idea of lining everything up with no SAMG. I love how you have positioned you little triangles from the Borderettes stamp set and I think the Age Awareness set is on my list now too. Chantell JAI

Impressions a Bloom for Sunday Stamps!

Happy Sunday!  Right now I am knee deep in making decorations for my daughter's upcoming baby shower next weekend and the theme is Winnie the Pooh! lol :)  I am going to be a grandma for the first time and all I can say is that I am really is exciting! I forced myself to clear off my stamping table (well actually just push stuff away) and created a floral card for this weeks new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  The Impressions  a Bloom Bundle is one of my newest favorite sets and I really have not had time to create with all of the very many different ways you can with this set.  Here's my 2nd go. Soft pastel colors? Count me in!  And these petals exemplify the softness you can achieve with the Impressions a Bloom .  For these flowers, I stamped 2 in Peach Pie ink followed by Timid Tiger ink. The 3rd flower was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. I first stamped off onto scratch paper and then used full strength for the detailed/outline stamp. Next, I d...

Perfectly Pears for Sunday Stamps!

It's Sunday and today starts another new challenge at Sunday Stamps! Yahoo!  I love card challenges because it makes you think outside the box and at the same time gives you something to create with whether it be a color challenge or a sketch challenge.   For this weeks creation, I focused on the new Online Exclusive Bundle called Perfectly Pears .  This bundle is part of a suite and the products in the suite are gorgeous.  For this particular creation, I focused on the adorable set of pears and a few of the coordinating dies. I stamped the outline set of pears image using Pecan Pie ink and then stamped the solid part of the pear image using Darling Duckling ink which also had some Timid Tiger ink sponged onto it as well. I then took my Darling Duckling and my Timid Tiger Stampin' Blends and outlined some of the edges of the pears to add more depth to each Pear. Next, I colored the leaves and stem using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends...
