Dynamic Duos#100: Triple Threat and last DD challenge!

Sad news alert!!!! The creator of Dynamic Duos: Lesley Croghan and its manager Anne Marie Hile have decided to end the Dynamic Duos challenge blog!  OH MY!
As a result, THIS is the last challenge you can participate in for Dynamic Duos!  If you've never played along, don't miss out, come join us for the last Dynamic Duos challenge! Here's the LAST challenge:

And here's what I made:

I first embossed the flower image from the Gifts of Kindness stamp set with white embossing powder onto Whisper White card stock.  I then sponged So Saffron and Pool Party ink randomly around the image.  Then I stamped the flower image a few times in the background using Pool Party ink.

The words are from the hostess set called Simply Sketched.  Although, I love the set of words that go with the Gifts of Kindness stamp set, I really wanted to use my Word Bubble Dies, and this sentiment worked perfectly for the layout I was trying to achieve.  :)

RECIPE:
STAMPS: Gifts of Kindness and Simply Sketched
INK: Pool Party and So Saffron
PAPER: Smokey Slate, So Saffron and Pool Party
ACCESSORIES: Word Bubble Dies, Versamark pad, White Embossing powder, Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon, Finishing Touches Edgelits, paper piercing tool and guide, Fancy Fan Embossing folder, Itty Bitty Shapes punch, Basic Pearls and retired DS paper.

Okay, so now you have seen my Triple Threat, why don't you take the time to play along! And please make sure to stop by and see the other design team members creations.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Impressions a Bloom for Sunday Stamps!

Happy Sunday!  Right now I am knee deep in making decorations for my daughter's upcoming baby shower next weekend and the theme is Winnie the Pooh! lol :)  I am going to be a grandma for the first time and all I can say is that I am really is exciting! I forced myself to clear off my stamping table (well actually just push stuff away) and created a floral card for this weeks new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  The Impressions  a Bloom Bundle is one of my newest favorite sets and I really have not had time to create with all of the very many different ways you can with this set.  Here's my 2nd go. Soft pastel colors? Count me in!  And these petals exemplify the softness you can achieve with the Impressions a Bloom .  For these flowers, I stamped 2 in Peach Pie ink followed by Timid Tiger ink. The 3rd flower was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. I first stamped off onto scratch paper and then used full strength for the detailed/outline stamp. Next, I d...

Perfectly Pears for Sunday Stamps!

It's Sunday and today starts another new challenge at Sunday Stamps! Yahoo!  I love card challenges because it makes you think outside the box and at the same time gives you something to create with whether it be a color challenge or a sketch challenge.   For this weeks creation, I focused on the new Online Exclusive Bundle called Perfectly Pears .  This bundle is part of a suite and the products in the suite are gorgeous.  For this particular creation, I focused on the adorable set of pears and a few of the coordinating dies. I stamped the outline set of pears image using Pecan Pie ink and then stamped the solid part of the pear image using Darling Duckling ink which also had some Timid Tiger ink sponged onto it as well. I then took my Darling Duckling and my Timid Tiger Stampin' Blends and outlined some of the edges of the pears to add more depth to each Pear. Next, I colored the leaves and stem using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends...
