Dynamic Duos: #90: Black Tie Week...

Hello! It's Black Tie week at Dynamic Duos, and we are looking for creations using the colors Black and Daffodil Delight.  There is also a dessert option to create a "shaped/fun fold card".  Wow! What a fun challenge we have this week! Here's the challenge to play along with us this week:

And here's my "shaped/fun fold card" for this weeks challenge:

This sunflower birthday card opens on the side.  I embossed the largest framelit from the Floral Frames Collection using the Decorative Dots embossing folder (FREE Sale-a-bration item!) and then sponged Daffodil Delight ink over it. I also used the Starburst Framelits and the matching Starburst Sayings from the Occasions mini catalog.

On the inside of the card,  I added and a gift card holder using the Envelope Punch board on one side, and stamped Daffodil Delight and Basic Black flowers using the Petite Petals stamp set on the
other side.  A very fun card to make!

  7. Oh, happy CARD! That paper sunflower is AWESOME! So bright and cheery! And the little gift-card holder is "icing on the {birthday} cake." I saw a great tutorial on using that envelope board to make a gift-box holder for note-cards: http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2014/02/video-card-boxes.html
I'm thinking I may have to contact my SU pal and put in an order...

Impressions a Bloom for Sunday Stamps!

Happy Sunday!  Right now I am knee deep in making decorations for my daughter's upcoming baby shower next weekend and the theme is Winnie the Pooh! lol :)  I am going to be a grandma for the first time and all I can say is that I am really is exciting! I forced myself to clear off my stamping table (well actually just push stuff away) and created a floral card for this weeks new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  The Impressions  a Bloom Bundle is one of my newest favorite sets and I really have not had time to create with all of the very many different ways you can with this set.  Here's my 2nd go. Soft pastel colors? Count me in!  And these petals exemplify the softness you can achieve with the Impressions a Bloom .  For these flowers, I stamped 2 in Peach Pie ink followed by Timid Tiger ink. The 3rd flower was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. I first stamped off onto scratch paper and then used full strength for the detailed/outline stamp. Next, I d...

Perfectly Pears for Sunday Stamps!

It's Sunday and today starts another new challenge at Sunday Stamps! Yahoo!  I love card challenges because it makes you think outside the box and at the same time gives you something to create with whether it be a color challenge or a sketch challenge.   For this weeks creation, I focused on the new Online Exclusive Bundle called Perfectly Pears .  This bundle is part of a suite and the products in the suite are gorgeous.  For this particular creation, I focused on the adorable set of pears and a few of the coordinating dies. I stamped the outline set of pears image using Pecan Pie ink and then stamped the solid part of the pear image using Darling Duckling ink which also had some Timid Tiger ink sponged onto it as well. I then took my Darling Duckling and my Timid Tiger Stampin' Blends and outlined some of the edges of the pears to add more depth to each Pear. Next, I colored the leaves and stem using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends...
