Bridal Shower invites

Hello! Today, I would like to share with you what I have been working on during the Christmas break. In my spare moments, I have been making bridal shower invitations for my husband's niece.  We do not live close to any of our family, and as a result, we don't get to see them as much as we would like. But, I can contribute my love of stamping to her. :)  The bride to be was popped the big question while vacationing with the groom to be in Paris.  As a result, she is planning a Paris themed wedding with the colors of gray, peach, pink and gold.  How perfect was it for me that Stampin' UP! came out with the Follow My Heart stamp set just in time for me to make her invites? Yippee!

Without further delay, here is what I made:

I chose Smokey Slate, Blushing Bride, Primrose Petals and Very Vanilla for my card colors.  There is a lot of embossing and sponging going on here!  First, I embossed the tower in gold. Then I stamped the French Script background in Versamark and embossed it in Clear. Next, I stamped images from Artistic Etchings randomly in Smokey Slate and Blushing Bride and then sponged over them in the same ink.  Lastly, I added some gold "dots" from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to finish the tag off.. I also sponged Gold  Encore and White Craft onto the Blushing Bride piece of cardstock to give it a warm vintage feel.

Here they are drying. I ended up making a total of 40 invitations.  Now, I just need to print off the inside details and soon they will be ready.  Another yippee!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a safe New Years celebration!  Happy 2014!
