Dynamic Duos: #78 Subtly Yours....

Hello, fellow stampers! It's time for another Dynamic Duos challenge. Yippee-Skippee!  This time we want to see some "subtle" creations using Crumb Cake and Always Artichoke.....Here's the challenge:

And here's what I made for this weeks challenge:
Oh what fun it was to create this goody.  I pulled out all kinds of "accessories".  Here are a few explanations: I stamped each ornament in Crumb Cake onto Very Vanilla card stock. I then stamped each one of them again using my glue pad and then sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds glitter onto them.  I die cut out the ornament images onto a piece of Always Artichoke card stock and then stamped the branches using my Always Artichoke craft pad. Yep, I have an Always Artichoke craft pad.  As a matter of fact, I have all the original SU craft pads that were offered way back when. : ) Then I embossed the branches with Clear embossing powder.  I then stamped the ornaments string with my Versa mark pad and embossed it with Very Vanilla embossing powder.  I then ran this piece through my Big Shot using the Stylish Stripes embossing folder (and prayed that it wouldn't ruin the embossed images...and it didn't!)  Note to self: stop using the Stylish Stripes embossing folder on every card you make! :)
For assembly, I used dimensionals to raise the Always Artichoke piece of card stock onto a piece of Crumb Cake and "dropped" the die cut ornaments inside for perfect placement. I then added the die cut stars.  After more layering and adding a bow, I placed this piece onto the Crumb Cake card base using dimensionals again.  Finally, everything was accented with Basic Pearls.  In real life, she is pretty sparkly! : )
I hope you find this inspiring, and pop on over to Dynamic Duos and play along!!!  For more "subtly yours" inspiration, please stop by the other designers and see what they have made:

  10. I was going to say your card is stunning, but everyone beat me to it. So it's dazzling! I think my favorite detail is actually the strings for the ornaments -- is that from the Merry Little Christmas set? I've been wanting something else to use for ornament strings besides a straight line or a ribbon. Stealing this!

  11. This card is drop-dead gorgeous! And you can keep using that striped embossing folder--it works really well on this card. I think my favorite part is the sparkly 3D fir boughs--so pretty. Beautiful job this week, Annette!

Impressions a Bloom for Sunday Stamps!

Happy Sunday!  Right now I am knee deep in making decorations for my daughter's upcoming baby shower next weekend and the theme is Winnie the Pooh! lol :)  I am going to be a grandma for the first time and all I can say is that I am really is exciting! I forced myself to clear off my stamping table (well actually just push stuff away) and created a floral card for this weeks new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  The Impressions  a Bloom Bundle is one of my newest favorite sets and I really have not had time to create with all of the very many different ways you can with this set.  Here's my 2nd go. Soft pastel colors? Count me in!  And these petals exemplify the softness you can achieve with the Impressions a Bloom .  For these flowers, I stamped 2 in Peach Pie ink followed by Timid Tiger ink. The 3rd flower was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. I first stamped off onto scratch paper and then used full strength for the detailed/outline stamp. Next, I d...

Perfectly Pears for Sunday Stamps!

It's Sunday and today starts another new challenge at Sunday Stamps! Yahoo!  I love card challenges because it makes you think outside the box and at the same time gives you something to create with whether it be a color challenge or a sketch challenge.   For this weeks creation, I focused on the new Online Exclusive Bundle called Perfectly Pears .  This bundle is part of a suite and the products in the suite are gorgeous.  For this particular creation, I focused on the adorable set of pears and a few of the coordinating dies. I stamped the outline set of pears image using Pecan Pie ink and then stamped the solid part of the pear image using Darling Duckling ink which also had some Timid Tiger ink sponged onto it as well. I then took my Darling Duckling and my Timid Tiger Stampin' Blends and outlined some of the edges of the pears to add more depth to each Pear. Next, I colored the leaves and stem using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends...
