Gingham Garden Birthday Gift Set

My most favorite designer series paper from the current SU catalog is Gingham Garden. It is soooo easy to work with. I just love it!  For this card, I decided to make a small gift box that would match the card.  I used the Deco Label Framelits to create the lid.  Ladies from my stamp club made this back in August.
Here's a close up of the box tilted so that you can see the top of it.
And here's the card all by it self with a Gingham wheeled envelope.  Didn't it turn out cute?
RECIPE:
STAMPS: Flower Shop, Mixed Bunch, Secret Garden and Label Love.
INK: Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight
PAPER: Strawberry  Slush (love it!), Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White
ACCESSORIES: Gingham Garden DSP (love it!), Artisan Label punch, Pansy punch, Blossom punch, 2 1/2" circle punch, Boho Blossoms punch, Secret Garden Framelits, Sweet Buttons Embosslits, Strawberry Slush Ruffled Ribbon, Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding, Basic Pearls and White  Twine.

Note: Make sure to stop by on each and every Wednesday for my "Wicked Wednesday" Halloween shares. Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Monday!

Birthday Gift Set

This morning I made a gift set for someone...can't say who it is in case they look at my blog this weekend. : ) This person LOVES dogs.  So, I borrowed a retired SU stamp set from a friend and pulled out retired paper and got to work.  Here's what I made:
I used my aqua painter and reinkers to paint the cute dog. Painting was fun since I haven't done it in a while.
I made 3 in blue and 3 in pink. : )  All colors are retired except for the base color: Baked Brown Sugar.
I left the inside blank so that she could use it for just about any occasion.
Here they are together.  I even stamped and painted the envelopes. : )
And here they are ready to be delivered.   So much fun!  Hope she likes them!
Who remembers Mauve Mist and Blue Bayou??
 Have a great weekend!

Get Well, Shelli

I'm sure you have heard by now that Shelli Gardner, the CEO of Stampin' UP! was injured while horseback riding.  It sounded like a very painful experience. You can visit her blog HERE to hear the story and see her progress. Thank goodness Shelli is a very positive person, who has lots of family and friends to help her out.  Stampin' UP! employees asked us to send her a hand made get well card. Here's the card I made for her:
Does it look familiar?  Well it should.  It's a case of the second card in THIS  post from my earlier creations in SAB 2013.  If you would like to send her a hand made card, here's the address:
Stampin' UP!
attn: get well Shelli
12907 South 3600 West
Riverton, UT 84065

There are so many sad things going on all around us each and every day. I give thanks for the many blessings I have each morning I wake up to a "normal" day.  Sending healing prayers to Shelli, the flood victims, the Washington Navy Yard victims.

With Sympathy

Here's another card that I'm sharing that we made on Saturday morning.  It seems that I tend to make lots and lots of birthday cards- which is great, but I need to make more sympathy cards.  Knowing this, I cut enough pieces to make a few extra cards for myself.  Glad I did that. Sending hand made sympathy cards are best to give during those horrible/difficult times.
We stamped the Flower image twice onto a pre-cut Chalk Talk framelit and then sponged the clouds using Coastal Cabana ink, a sponge dauber and a scallop circle shaped piece of vellum.  There is another flower image and clouds on the inside of the card as well.
To finish off the flower image, we added some Sliver Sparkle Dazzling Details to the pedals of the flowers. Serene Silhouettes is one of my favorite "go to" stamp set from last years catalog. So many different occasions can be made with this one stamp set.
RECIPE:
STAMPS:Serene Silhouettes, Loving Thoughts and Papillon Potpourri
INK: Smoky Slate, Coastal Cabana and Versamark
PAPER: Smoky Slate, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White and Eastern Elegance DSP
ACCESSORIES: Fancy Fan embossing folder, Chalk Talk Framelits, Slit punch, White embossing powder, Bitty Butterfly punch, paper piercing tool, mat and Essentials pack, sponge dauber, 1 3/4" scallop circle punch, Sliver Sparkle Dazzling Details and White ribbon.

Happy Monday!

There's You...

Today, I am sharing one of the cards we will be making at my Make and Take Class on Saturday morning.  In honor of  Stampin' UP!s Butterfly Bundle special. Acutally, ALL of the cards we will be making on Saturday has a cute butterfly or two or three on it!  Butterflies just add that final touch to a beautiful card!

So here's my first share/sneak peak:

Isn't "she" pretty?  I just love the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder.  It's textures are so elegant.  And how about this fact: This is the first card I have made with the Chalk Talk stamp set and matching Framelits! Shocking, isn't it?  I tend to "save"(or is it hoard?) my most special papers, ribbons, accessories and even stamp sets for last/later use.  Do you know what I mean????  I like to challenge myself with other goodies I have first and save the best for last.  I know, I'm strange. I took this picture just a few minutes ago on my kitchen table. Not sure if the colors are true or not, but turned out to be the best spot for morning pictures.
Tonight I have a hot date with Michael Buble'. Oops, I mean I have a hot date with my DH, who is taking me to see Michael Buble'!  Yippee- Skippee!  So, enjoy your day, and may there by many prayers for our 9/11 victims and their families. May there be peace in the World.

Recipe: Chalk Talk and Papillon Potpourri stamp sets; Primrose Petals, Pistachio Pudding and Crumb Cake card stock; Primrose Petals, Pistachio Pudding and Versa Mark pad; White Embossing powder, sponge daubers, Beautifully Baroque embossing folder, Chalk Talk Framelits, Large Oval punch, Bitty Butterfly punch and Basic Pearls.

FM126, Washi Tape 3 x 3 cards

Boy is it HOT out here in Minnesota!  My daughter had a soccer game today at noon and I thought I was going to melt away. UG!  They won 3-1, so at least she can be happy about that.  After we got home and cooled off, I headed down to my stamping room. Today, I decided to play along with the Friday Mashup Challenge 126 which is to create a set of 3 x 3 cards using Washi Tape.

Here's what I made:

INK: Stazon Black and Pumpkin Pie
PAPER: Basic Black, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla

Very easy and fun to make! Hope you are staying cool!  Happy Stamping!

FMS#102, PP161: Thank You

Today, I played along with two challenges...my first time doing this!  I played along with Freshly Made Sketches and the Paper Players blog.  It definitely was a challenge!  Very fun to work those creative muscles!  Here are the sketches:

I took the picture of my card late in the day today, so the lighting is not the best, but I really wanted to get a post on my blog as I think it feels neglected! :)
I made this card for a very dear person who is my neighbor at our cabin in Canada. Her name is Margaret and she is truly an awesome person.  Over the Labor Day weekend, she bought all the neighbor girls an Italian Porcelain night light and handed them out to all of us at our annual pot luck get together for our birthdays.  Isn't that so sweet? I love mine. It is so pretty.  She is so thoughtful.  And here's the card I made for her: And by the way, it does say "thank you" on the tag that is hard to see here.
The colors are: Crumb Cake, Strawberry  Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding.  I ran a piece of Whisper White card stock thru the Big Shot using the Autumn Accents Bigz die and then used my stampa-ma-jig to stamp the matching stamp set: Wonderfall onto the matching images.  To tie the images together, I added some dots and splotches using the awesome Gorgeous Grunge stamp set using Crumb cake and Strawberry Slush ink.
I also rubbed my White craft pad carefully along the woodgrain embossed Crumb Cake piece of card stock to soften it up and blended the whole concept together.
RECIPE:
STAMPS:Wonderfall, Gorgeous Grunge and Express Yourself
INK: Crumb Cake, Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, and White craft.
PAPER: Crumb Cake, Strawberry  Slush and Pistachio Pudding Color Collection DSP.
ACCESSORIES: Autumn Accents Bigz Die, Woodgrain embossing folder, Crumb Cake Seam Binding, White Bakers Twine, Basic Pears, White Gel pen and Dimensionals.

Well, that's it. Happy Stamping!
