FMS217: Wildfower Fields

Merry after Christmas!  I hope you had an enjoyable celebration with your family and friends.  It was a quite gathering at our house, but nonetheless awesome to have all of our children here with us. :)

Today I am sharing a sympathy card I made recently following challenge no. 217 at Freshly Made Sketches.  Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card for a very dear friend who's husband passed away after battling cancer for quite some time (insert sad face).
In making my card, I decided to use the new and beautiful designer series paper called "Wildflower Fields" that is a FREE Sale-a-bration item you can choose starting January 5, 2016 with a $50 purchase.  Here's my card:

The colors I used from this beautiful paper are: Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Old Olive. The flower image is from the Birthday Blooms stamp set from the 2106 Occasions catalog, and will also be available for purchase starting January 5, 2016.

Here is the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches challenge blog:

I also added some "splatter" in Hello Honey ink from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and some Crushed Curry washi tape and a few gold sequins.

Well, thats it for now! I hope you are getting excited about Sale-a-bration and the new 2016 Occasions catalog!  Please contact me if you would like a brochure or catalog to see these new items!

SSC116: Sneak Peak of What I Love

Happy Sunday! It's time for another fun challenge at Sunday Stamps! and I have a SNEAK PEAK to share with you.  This beautiful Sale-a-bration stamp set is called "What I Love" and will be available for you to earn for FREE with a $50 purchase starting January 5, 2016.

This is considered a two-step stamp set, but actually it is a three-step stamp set.  It was so fun and easy to create this card! I did not even line up the images.  I just stamped them!  It makes beautiful flowers and has a whimsical style with a matching font.

My design layout is based on the following NEW challenge at Sunday Stamps!.

I decided to literally make the flowers into a strip across the front of the card.  The colors I used to create the flowers are: Blackberry Bliss and Calypso Coral ink. The leaves were stamped using Old Olive ink.

I stamped a row of flowers across my white panel, and then went back and added 3 more on to the top using Dimensionals.  I also added some splatter from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and a strip of Blackberry Bliss washi tape to the top using the 2014-2016 In Color Designer Washi Tape collection which can be found on page 157 of the annual catalog.
How did I create the flowers?
I first stamped the smallest image of the flower in Blackberry Bliss onto a scratch piece of paper before stamping on my white panel.  Next, I stamped the larger flower image using Calypso Coral ink -again stamping onto scratch paper before stamping on my white panel.  Lastly, the outlined image of the flower was stamped full strength in Blackberry Bliss ink.  A very soft and elegant look.

Here's a picture of the 3 step process:

For this card, I stamped the flower images withou worrying about perfect allignment.  You can line them up perfectly if you want to. I just think it isn't necessary given the watercolor look of the stamp set. :)

Okay, now aren't you getting excited for Sale-a-bration to start???  I know I am! I can't wait to create and share with my friends and customers!  Okay, so now that you've seen my SNEAK PEAK share, please head over to the other Sunday Stamps! designers and check out their creations and then join us!

Thanks for stopping by!  Contact me if you would like to set up a workshop or stamping event during Sale-a-bration!  I would love to  share my stamping ideas with you!

Wonderous Wreath

Today, I am sharing a card I made using the Wonderous Wreath stamp set.  It can be found on page 72 of the annual catalog.   It debuted in the 2014 Holiday Catalog.  There are so many color variations and possibilities in making this fabulous wreath.  See my unique color combo for a wreath on an earlier card I made  HERE.  But for today, I kept it traditional using Old Olive cardstock with Old Olive and Mossy Meadow ink. How nice to have matching framelits to cut this out!  Not to mention all the other fabulous pieces in the Wonderful Wreath Framelits set.
Here I added "Noel" using Stampin' UP!s Gold Foil sheets.

And how about that Brick Wall? I love that embossing folder! You can create so many different looks with it.  Here, I used Crumb Cake cardstock and Crumb Cake ink. The Cherry Cobbler window is from the Hearth & Home Thinlits die set and is another awesome product from the 2015 Holiday Catalog.

To finish off the card, I added little red glitter berries using the the Fine-Tip Glue pen and retired Red Stampin' UP! glitter; snow on the ground highlighted in Dazzling Diamonds glitter; some Gold Cording Trim and lastly some gold sequins

SSC115: Picture Frame Scene

We have a new challenge at Sunday Stamps! this week for you.  This week we are working with a color challenge.   Here it is:

I had so many ideas rolling around in my head one of which was to create a picture frame with the Hardwood background stamp.  Since I am still working on Christmas cards and small gifts, it was easy for me to create another Christmas themed project with all the supplies on my desk!   The colors I chose for this weeks color challenge are:  Basic Gray, Soft Sky, Island Indigo and Whisper White.  Here's what I made:

It looks like a framed picture, doesn't it?  I had a lot of fun creating this! Perfect cabin feel to it. :)  All I need now is a roaring fire, my slippers and a glass of wine in hand. -sigh

To create this card, I first cut out a moon shape using my 3/4" circle punch and a sticky note, and placed it where I wanted it. I then masked the snow area off the bottom and brayered Soft Sky and Island Indigo onto the cardstock to create my sky.

I colored the trees with my Smoky Slate Blendabilities (retired) and added little snowflakes to the sky with White craft ink.  To finish off the sky, I added cute little stars using the Confetti Stars Border punch.  The Fine-Tip Glue Pen makes it a snap!

The awesome Snowflake Element at the top of the card was also sponged with White craft ink and topped off with a Brights Candy Dot.  The "peace" tag is from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set.

Season of Peace

Here's another Christmas card I made using the Wonderland stamp set. I love this stamp set!  Those tall, slender trees are just gorgeous!  The Winter Wonderland collection on pages 22-24 of the 2016 Holiday Catalog is my top favorite from this catalog.

Most of my Christmas cards for this year are made using the Winter Wonderland collection. Gold embossed trees on black cardstock are quite striking.
To change it up a bit,  I decided to add a starry night to match my "season of peace" sentiment which is from the Holly Jolly Greetings Bundle.  I don't think the Christmas Greetings Thinlits Dies have gotten the attention they deserve.  The font and words are perfect.
