CMCC#82 and RS#174 : Happy Birthday!

Hello, crafty friends! I have been busy getting reading for my Make and Take class happening on Satruday and as usual, I always want to create something after I have all my supplies packed in containers- which makes it difficult for me to find supplies AND remember to put them back!  So, hopefully I put everyting back in the right spot. :)

I played with 2 challenges this morning: Retro sketch #174 and Colour Me...! #82.  Here are their challenges:

And here's the card I made following the sketch and using the colors shown on the righthand side of the colour me challenge:

Colors are: Tip Top Taupe (love!), Wisteria Wonder and Blushing Bride.

The sentiment is from the Hostess set: Happy Birthday Everyone, and the flowers are from Beautiful Bunch.  Love, love these colors together!  So, I guess I am "team  Tara"! The accents I used are: Tip Top Taupe 1" Dotted Lace Trim, Blushing Bride Candy Dots, White Perfect Accents and some vanilla twine.

Sunday Stamps! challenge #106

Hello, crafty friends! It's time once again for another fun challenge at Sunday Stamps!.  This week we have a  sketch for you.  Here it is:

And here's what I made using the stamp set from the June 2015 Paper Pumpkin card kit.  I used the Pretty Petals DSP Stack as my color inspiration.  Colors are: Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride, Old Olive, Basic Black and Very Vanilla.

I stamped the large flower image directly onto Calypso Coral carstock and fussy cut them out. I then stamped the flower again on Blushing Bride cardstock and then punch the centers out using the 3/4" circle punch.  The sentiment is also from the paper pumpkin kit, and I just masked off the words and stamped them where I wanted them.

The leaves were die cut from the Flower Patch stamp set.  They are stamped in Old Olive and Basic Black.

To finish off my card, I added some Basic Black Bakers Twine and a few black sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment.

So, now it's time for you to head on over to Sunday Stamps! and see what the other design team members have created and then join us! We would love to see what you create!

Garden in Bloom Birthday

Hello, crafty friends! Today I am sharing a card I made using the Garden in Bloom stamp set.  Colors are: Tip Top Taupe, Delightful Dijon, Early Espresso and White craft ink.
Tip: After stamping the flowers and leaves, I went back and sponged Delightful Dijon around the flower centers and Tip Top Taupe around the flowers and leaves themselves to give it an all around softer look.

To finish off the card, I stamped 2 butterflies and fussy cut them out and added some 1" Dotted Lace Trim and gold sequins.

Well, that's my share for today! Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Sunday Stamps! challenge # 105

Hello, and welcome back to you and to me!  It's time for another fun challenge at Sunday Stamps! and this week we are working with a color challenge.  Here's the inspirational picture:
A beautiful ribbon cake dressed in grays and white.  Such a fun picture that I took the challenge literally and made a gray and white cake.  Here it is:
I added a lot of fun details to this wedding card.  But before I explain what I did, can you guess where the flowers on the cake came from? If you said Garden in Bloom- you are correct!

Here's what I did to create this card.  First, I ran a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock thru the very pretty Elegant Dots embossing folder. Next, I inked up my brayer with Versamark and gently rolled over the embossed card stock.  I then heat embossed it using white embossing powder.  Such a pretty effect.

For the cake, I stamped the pedestal from the Build a Birthday set in Basic Gray ink.  Each layer of the cake was stamped in White craft ink and then heat embossed with Irridescent Ice embossing powder.  The cake wasn't tall enough for my liking, so I added another layer to the top- cutting it down a bit after I heat embossed it.  I used dimensionals to adhere the cake to the embossed panel, and fussy cut white embossed flowers from the Garden in Bloom stamp set. I also added a few leaves from the Bird Builder punch.  The sentiment is from the Something to Say stamp set. Lastly, I added some Whisper White Bakers Twine and Pearl Basic Jewels.

Here are the supplies I used:
