3 x 3 Thinlits thank you's

Yesterday, I didn't have much time to stamp but wanted to make thank you cards to stick into my customers bags before I handed them out.  I deiced to make these cute little 3 x 3 circle flip cards and matching envelopes using the Circle Thinlits Die and the new Envelope Liners Framelits Dies.  So much fun!
These were really simple to make after I figured out how to cut my card stock.  I  started with a piece of card stock that was 3" by 5 1/2" centered it so that the circle was in the middle (up and down ) on the 3" side.  After running it thru my Big Shot and scoring on the folders, I trimmed the sides (left and right) so that there was about 1/4" on each side to make a 3 x 3 size. Now I know there probably is better way  to make this...but that's how I did it. ; )
I used the "thx" and the scalloped circle and framelit that came in the die set to complete the card.
RECIPE:
STAMPS: Family Reunion (retired)
INK: Versamark
PAPER: Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe and Whisper White card stock.
ACCESSORIES: In Color 2013-2014 DSP paper pack, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Circle Thinlints, Envelope Liners Framelits, 2 1/2" circle punch, White Embossing powder

thanks for stopping by!  Happy stamping!

Tickets to a Happy Birthday: New Thinlits!

Hello, stamping friends!
I received my Circle Thinlits in Saturday's mail....and just had to try it out right away!  I started the card on Saturday, and finished it up this morning. Originally I thought I would make a "quick" card for my brother-in-laws b-day...but the card just kept growing! Ha!
Here's what I came up with using the new Circle Thinlit Die set:
So the first picture is of the front of the card. I used a large close pin to hold it closed.
The next picture is of the card just standing so you can see the circle thinlit.
This next picture is what it looks like when you start to open the card....
This is what it looks like with the first "flap" open......
And here's what it looks like on the inside. : )  This was soooo much fun to make!

RECIPE:
STAMPS: You're Amazing
INK: Night of Navy, Ruby Red, Baked Brown Sugar, Daffodil Delight and Bashful Blue
PAPER: Whisper White, Ruby Red, Night of Navy, Baked Brown Sugar, Baked Brown  Sugar, Ruby Red and Night of Navy DSP
ACCESSORIES: Circle Thinlits Die set, Honeycomb embossing folder, Ticket Duo Builder punch, 2 1/2" circle punch, Circles Dies, Linen Thread, Blender Pen, Ruby Red Button, sponge daubers.

FMS99: Hello Sweet Friend

Today, I made time to play along with Freshly Made Sketch #99.  Here's the sketch:
The "stamp man" delivered new goodies to my house last night. Yippee! I decided to use my new Six-Sided Sampler stamp set and matching Hexagon punch. : )  Here's what I came up with:
After I pick out my stamp set, I usually grab my designer series paper and let it do all the work of picking out what colors I am going to use.  It makes stamping much easier!  Here I used my first favorite DSP out of the new 2013-2014 catty: Gingham Garden.
RECIPE:
STAMPS: Six-Sided Sampler
INK: Island Indigo and Daffodil Delight
PAPER: Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White and Gingham Garden DSP
ACCESSORIES: Hexagon punch, Itty Bitty Shapes punch, Honeycomb Embossing Folder, 1 1/2" circle punch, Basic Pearls, Essentials Paper-piercing pack and tool.

Happy Friday everyone!  Hope you get to stamp a latte!

PP158: Thinking of You

I made this card for a dear friend of mine who is going through some difficult times right now.  Last week she lost her brother, while she and her family are dealing with her father's terminal cancer. My heart breaks for her and her family. :(
I used the colors from the paper players color challenge #158 which consists of Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pear Pizzazz.

Wish I was in a better mood to post this.  Prayers going out to my friend, Lisa.  May God give her strength during this very difficult time.

Birthday Wishes: cQc #201

Last night I made time to play along with the colourQ Challenge #201.  A rich color combination that I would not have thought of putting together myself. But after seeing the examples and after making my own version, it appears that these colors are pretty darn awesome together! : )  Here's the sketch:

And here's what I came up with:

Can I just say how much I love, love the Modern Mosaic embossing folder?  It is so pretty, and makes the Basic Gray card stock really stand out in a very elegant way.
RECIPE:
STAMPS: Flower Shop, Mosaic Madness and Four You
INK: Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Night of Navy and Soft Sky
PAPER: Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Night of Navy and Soft Sky
ACCESSORIES: Modern Mosaic embossing folder, Pansy and Boho Blossoms punches, Basic Pearls, Large Basic Pearls and Calypso Coral Ribbon (retired).

Regarding Dahlias

Regarding Dahlias (here) was one of the first stamp sets I purchased from the new SU catalog.  I made this card while we vacationed over the July 4th week at our cabin.  I water colored the flower image using my aqua painter with Baked Brown Sugar and Daffodil Delight reinkers.  I didn't have water color paper with me, but I think it still turned out pretty good.  What do you think?
I sponged White Craft ink using a sponge dauber onto the  Needlepoint Border embossed piece of Baked Brown Sugar to the left of the flower.  A fun wedding card.

RECIPE:
STAMPS: Regarding Dahlias and Express Yourself (hostess set)
INK: Black Stazon, Versa Mark, Baked Brown Sugar and Daffodil Delight reinkers
PAPER: Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White and Quatrefancy  DSP
ACCESSORIES: Beautifully Baroque and Needlepoint Border embossing folders, Little Leaves Sizzlits, White embossing powder, sponge dauber and retired SU brads.

Happy stamping!

Wheely Sweet

Okay, I'm not sure this is a card worthy share, but I kinda like it. I'm not impressed with my clouds...but I'll just have to practice some more! I had thought about making this card while I was driving around running errands yesterday, and I think I dreamed about it too.  Here's what  I was thinking about:
The picture is not the best due to lack of sun today. To make the clouds, I used 3 different sizes of circle punches to punch on the Pool Party piece of card stock. I then embossed a piece of Very  Vanilla  card stock with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder to stick behind it.  The grass and main colors used to create this card are from the Birthday Basics DSP.
I sponged White craft and Pool Party inks randomly and lightly onto the Pool Party piece of card stock to give the sky some depth.  I also paper pierced two holes next to the bicycle seat and threaded a piece of Island Indigo Bakers Twine through it to make the "wheel sweet" banner blowing in the wind. : )
For the inside of the card, I used the Decorative Label punched shaped greeting which matches the "Wheely Sweet" saying perfectly.
Cycle Celebration
