Nephews Graduation Card

My nephew Brandon is graduating from High School this weekend. Here's the card I made for him. Do you notice that the layout is the same as the Classic Car card I posted a few days back? Its about an inch longer, but the layout is basically the same. I used my circle scissors plus to make the circles around the "G". I plan to make some more grad cards like this using different colors. One of Brandon's school colors is purple...hence the purple on this card! Have a great memorial weekend. We are off to our cabin. Brother-in-Law Bday Card

Didn't this turn out cute? I loved the layout so much that I made another card that I will show you on another day. This fits into a legal envelope very nicely but is only about 6 inches long. I am glad I bought the Classic Pickup set when it was retired by SU. I have made a lot of cute cards for the men in my family. Don't forget that this year's retirement list will be available from June 1 -30th! Once they're gone, they're gone!!!!

Recipe: A Tree For All Seasons, and Classic Pickups (retired) stamp sets. Basic Black, Old Olive DS and Old Olive card stock. Sponge daubers of (in this order): Brocade Blue, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Ruby Red, Old Olive and Always Artichoke for shading around car and trees. Brocade Blue buttons from Fresh Favorites II, Red Hemp.

Wasn't yesterday one of the most beautiful days so far this year???? I hope we have many more like it! Have a great day!! Annette

ink: chocolate chip, and regal rose;

paper: sweet always DS paper, pumpkin pie, pretty in pink and chocolate chip.

The picture below is a close up of the cool cat. Enjoy the summer like day!!! Annette

My grandpa Jack

Last night my grandpa Jack passed away after trying to recover from bypass surgery that he had back in December 2008. He was 82 years old. Here he is with my Uncle Mike. I had made plans with my sister to fly out on Tuesday to see him one last time.

My grandpa was a very positive and funny man. I have so many wonderful and funny memories of him. One of his and my favorites was when he bought me my first "grown up beverage" when I turned 21. He was so proud to show me off to his friends.

Last Saturday when I talked to him, he said he was ready to go home and that he lived a good life.

I will miss him dearly. But at least he is at peace and not in anymore pain. Plus he gets to be with my grandma again.
I love you, grandpa Jack. And I will miss you very much. Annette

Graduation Card

Here's one of three graduation cards I need for this month. John's niece is graduating from college on Sunday...(so off to the mail I go!) Time flies...and then everyone is grown up!
I used Urban Oasis DS paper with Great Grads, In the Stars (retired) and Star struck (retired) stamp sets. I also used my circle scissors plus. This cutter does take a little practice to get perfect results and it is helpful to use dotto to secure the paper down onto the glass cutting mat.
So far it is a happy addition to my stamping accessories. :)
Have a great day!!! Annette

Great Friend

Here's another card I made over the weekend using Great Friend and Walk in the Park DS paper. I found some brads on the dollar area at JoAnne Fabrics that match SU's Kiwi Kiss ink and paper- yes! This was a left over piece of DS paper....so I shrunk the card an inch. Have a great day! Annette
